In the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve, you’ll find numerous gardens and parks. Each one has its own history.

Gardens with History - “I do, I learn, and I experience.”

The Saarpfalz District and the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve offer a variety of historic parks, some long forgotten, others overgrown. They cover a wide range of periods and themes: WaldPark Schloss Karlsberg near Homburg, Jägersburger Weiher, Barockgarten Schwarzenacker, Blumengarten Bexbach, Elstersteinpark and Gustav-Clauss-Anlage in St. Ingbert, Orangeriegarten and Klosterpark Blieskastel, the park landscape at Würzbacher Weiher, Bagatelle Park near Aßweiler-Seelbach, Pirminius Garden in Altheim, the Mimbach Farm Garden, the Haus Lochfeld Cultural Landscape Center in Wittersheim, the Roman Garden near Bliesbruck-Reinheim, and the Castle Garden in Rilchingen. Each garden has its own character and its own history. However, it is revealing to experience the gardens as a whole—in their similarities, their differences, their respective states of preservation and maintenance, and even in their current forms of presentation.
