What is the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve?

The Bliesgau UNESCO Biosphere Reserve

is a World Cultural Heritage site.

World Cultural Heritage is the name of a list.

The list includes special places and structures.

These places and structures are to be protected.

The Bliesgau UNESCO Biosphere Reserve

is the name of a protected area in the southeastern part of Saarland.

It borders Rhineland-Palatinate and the French region of Lorraine.

There are hills, orchards, forests, and the Blies River.

People, animals, and plants live together here.

We share this diverse habitat.

We want to protect this habitat for everyone.

We must learn how best to do this.

This is the mission of the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve.

Biospheres are habitats.

A reserve is a protected area.
