Characteristic of this circular route are the three enchanted "gardens with history" waiting to be discovered. Starting at the station in St. Ingbert, the route climbs immediately towards St. Ingbert-Sengscheid. Through the forest, the route follows the "Saar-Nahe Höhenradweg" up to Blieskastel-Seelbach and then on to Blieskastel-Assweiler, to the first "garden with history" – the Bagatelle Assweiler. The route leads over the heights of the Bliesgau Biosphere and continues over Erfweiler-Ehlingen in the beautiful Mandelbachtal valley to Wittersheim. There, cyclists encounter the "Tuscany of the Saarland," as the area has a truly Mediterranean climate in the summer months. In the middle of nature is the Cultural Landscape Center Haus Lochfeld with one of the "gardens with history." The garden is freely accessible and nature enthusiasts can experience an interesting app-based listening tour there. The route continues over Gräfinthal to Rilchingen-Hannweiler, where the next "garden with history" – the Gräflich Leyensche Saline Rilchingen – awaits. After this stop, the route continues to the French Sarreguemines and from there along the bike path that leads along the Saar Riverbank to Saarbrücken. On the route, the impressive industrial facilities of the Halberger Hütte can be admired before the return journey via Saarbrücken-Scheid and Schafbrücke back to St. Ingbert station.

There are dining options in the pedestrian zone of St. Ingbert, in the village of Assweiler, Wittersheim (Haus Lochfeld, check opening times online), Gräfinthal, Sarreguemines, at the Güdinger Lock, and in the old town of Saarbrücken.
Wegbeschreibung
Please note that on this suggested route you follow various signposts and should therefore read the route description carefully
Route:
Start at the station in St. Ingbert – continue via Annastraße and Albert-Weisgerber-Allee over the motorway bridge to Sengscheid – at the beginning of the village turn left onto the forest path parallel to L108 – follow the road for about 700 m – then turn left onto the field path and follow the "Saar-Nahe Höhenradweg" – follow the path to Seelbach – turn right towards Assweiler and at the beginning of Assweiler turn left – behind the nursery turn right, then right again at the end, cross B423 and opposite turn into "Ehlinger Weg" – in Erfweiler-Ehlingen turn right at the main road – then in the sharp right bend turn left towards Wittersheim – there cross B423 and half-right to Haus Lochfeld – at the lookout tower cross L238 and continue via Gräfinthal, Bliesmengen-Bolchen (Schweyer Weg), Sitterswald to Rilchingen-Hannweiler – at the Saarland-Therme follow the bike path signs towards Saargemünd – past the premises of the "Barmherzigen Brüder" – in Sarreguemines take the bike path leading west along the riverbank to Saarbrücken – before the city limits go under 3 motorway bridges – over the next bridge, the so-called Ghost Bridge (car-free) through the St. Arnualer meadows to Brebach – follow the road behind the imposing industrial facilities of the Halberger Hütte to the left towards Schafbrücke – there cross B40 and after the railway underpass turn right – turn right in Scheidt (Am Bartenberg) and take the bike path over the Rentrischer water nature trail back to St. Ingbert station.

Two steep climbs are to be expected on the route. The circular route leads over paved and gravel roads.
