Hiking promotes health and well-being for everyone. In this spirit, the Kneippverein Erfweiler-Ehlingen has designated the circular Kneipp hiking trail around Erfweiler-Ehlingen.
On the way, marked with the Kneipp emblem, roam through the beautiful landscape by the Mandelbach and on the Hölschberg. Let fresh, pure air flow through your lungs. The excellent trail leads, among other things, past the Day Laborers' House, the Roman column, the parish church, and the Josef Chapel with the Seven Sorrows stations. Nowhere in the Bliesgau is there such a density of architectural monuments in such a small village. Refreshing and very healthy is also the Kneipp water treading basin in Rubenheimer Straße. The pilgrimage chapel is a much-visited gem and a prominently visible landmark of Erfweiler-Ehlingen. Its construction fulfilled a vow made on June 24, 1866, under Pastor Anton Pfeiffer by the villagers. In honor of Saint Joseph, they wanted to build a chapel if the village was spared from the war between Prussia and Austria-Bavaria. Indeed, no military actions took place in our area. The men of the village soon returned safely and fulfilled their vow.

Wegbeschreibung
The Kneipp water treading facility in Rubenheimer Straße is the starting point of the circular Kneipp hiking trail. From there, the path leads over meadows and fields via the Mandelbach back into the village of Erfweiler-Ehlingen. Past the St. Mauritius parish church, uphill towards the hiking hut Erfweiler-Ehlingen. A special treasure awaits visitors on the climb to the Josef Chapel: seven small houses with the Stations of the Seven Sorrows of Mary.
The stations were first built between 1869 and 1873 between the rectory and the Josef Chapel. The small houses have been renovated, extended, and restored multiple times in the past. Thus, the seven stations have been preserved up to today as places of meditation and prayer.
Over the Hölschberg, the path returns to the village of Erfweiler via the renaturalized “Brühlbach”, past the organic farm Bruchhof, and back to the starting point at Rubenheimer Straße.
