The Kneipp circular hiking trail in Ormesheim is an 11 km long circular route around the largest town in the Mandelbachtal municipality. The hiking trail runs over ridges through all three forests of the village, offering many beautiful distant views. While it goes continuously slightly uphill in the first half of the route, hikers are rewarded with a great view in the second half for their effort.
The route passes through Bettelwald, Kirchenwald, and Koppelwald, thus crossing all three forests around Ormesheim. Special sights on the route are the historic Kastelberg with the hereditary farm on the gypsum pit, the legendary Mühlenberg, the Strudelpeterkapelle, and the Koppelwald hut.

The Kneippweg Ormesheim starts at the parking lot at Theo-Carlen-Platz. The signs lead across the square to the main street and then turn right past the Gasthaus Niederländer. Then it goes past the cemetery over the Merlbach to the right uphill towards Bettelwald. After about 700 m, it goes into the beech forest and then to the right along the forest path to the Buchenhof. At the intersection, it turns right again, continuing gently uphill past the gypsum pit. After a stretch along the main road, the signage turns left onto a farm track past the chicken farm behind the residential area. Initially, there is a view to the left over fields before it goes along the edge of the forest to the Strudelpeterkapelle. The path bends slightly left into the Kirchenwald. For over a kilometer, it continues straight ahead. The signage indicates turning right over a path to the farm track on the other side of the main road. However, it is worth walking a few meters further straight ahead first and climbing the Heidekopfturm to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view or take a rest on one of the benches. Otherwise, it initially goes right past the composting facility, then left into the Koppelwald. Straight ahead to the Koppelwald hut, then left. From here, there is a great view towards Ensheim. The signage leads to the field path on the left and then about 1.5 km straight ahead until it returns to the village. In the residential area, it first goes right towards Ahornweg and then zigzags left, right, and immediately left again. Then it passes the Kreuzkirche and turns left. At the main street, the path turns left before turning right again back to the starting point.
