Seven-Pond Route

Characteristic of this half-day bike route are the numerous ponds directly on the route. In addition to the well-known Würzbacher Pond and the Glashütter Pond, you will also cycle past several smaller ones such as the Wombacher Pond or the Sägeweiher. Each of these "wet spots" has its charm and allows you to recharge at picnic and refreshment stops. Please note, however, that none of the ponds are designated for swimming. At the Wombacher Pond, for example, you can refresh yourself at the pedal and arm Kneipp facility as well as have a drink at the Fischerhütte. Another highlight on the route is the Glashütter Pond with a large sunbathing area, several picnic spots, a kiosk, and a restaurant inviting you to linger. At the largest body of water, the Würzbacher Pond, you will find numerous refreshment options, such as the Hotel-Restaurant Annahof, Café am See, Fischerhütte, Würzbacher train station, or the beer garden “Philippslust.” Almost at the end of the route, in the village of Oberwürzbach, you will find a restored, historic washhouse still fed by crystal-clear spring water. Especially children enjoy the cool water here. The Seven-Pond Route is particularly well suited for travel to and from by train due to the good connection to public transport via the train stations in St. Ingbert and Blieskastel-Niederwürzbach. The bike route is consistently marked with the blue-green frog logo and is characterized, in addition to the ponds, by its gently hilly forests and valleys.
