The Storchennest playground is centrally located in Homburg city centre and is a lively, easily accessible meeting place for families. Its spacious design and wide range of play equipment appeal to children of all ages as well as their accompanying adults, who will find plenty of opportunities to linger and relax here.
The centrepiece of the playground is a large climbing frame in the shape of a climbing pyramid, which invites children to climb, hang and balance to their hearts' content. This is complemented by a climbing tower with a slide, which provides additional fun. Several swings, including special toddler swings, allow safe swinging for different age groups. Rocking animals and a variety of sand play equipment offer many opportunities for creative play and discovery, especially for younger children.
A special highlight is the barrier-free inclusive carousel, which enables children with and without disabilities to play together and makes the playground an inclusive meeting place. The entire play area is covered with sand, which not only encourages digging and playing, but also ensures safe, soft landings.
Away from the play equipment, there is a table tennis table and several tables and benches. These offer ideal conditions for short breaks, picnics or relaxed conversations while the children play. A lovely design detail is the large stork depicted above the playground on the play tower, which gives the "Storchennest" (stork's nest) its name. This striking element not only makes the playground unmistakable, but also delights children.
