Family hike around the Würzbacher Weiher
The circular trail around the Würzbacher Weiher is only about five kilometers long, designed on flat terrain and therefore particularly recommended for families with children and for taking dogs along. Nature lovers will get their money’s worth here, as many waterfowl, swans, and ducks can be observed during the hike. Dogs can go to the water and refresh themselves at many points. A refreshment for children and adults awaits at the end of the walk, as the beer garden at the pond invites you to take a break, and there is also a playground and self-service gastronomy offering cool drinks.
The hike has some special features. On the one hand, it runs over a dam along two lakes; on the other hand, it is a matter of observing the many waterfowl, swans, and ducks swimming freely on the water or trying to hide from curious glances in the reeds. Especially in late spring to early summer, the many ducklings and cygnets stand out as they loudly squeak and swim after their mothers.

The Park Würzbacher Weiher
Between 1781 and 1791, at the initiative of Countess Marianne von der Leyen, a diverse park landscape was created around the Würzbacher Weiher, which was destroyed shortly after completion by invading French revolutionary troops (1793). Therefore, it quickly fell into oblivion. Several park areas, which sometimes merged into open landscapes, were created by the court gardener, especially the large pleasure garden with lawns, green and open areas, with meadow orchards and vegetable gardens as well as a bathing house, grotto, aviary, and “Turkish tent” on the northern shore of the pond (near Annahof). Also remarkable were the Chinese “house garden” with pond and pagoda along Allmendstraße and the “rock gardens.” Representative buildings, partly also used economically, such as the Philippsburg, the Mon Plaisir mill, Bonvoisin (Red Building), and the Annahof particularly enhanced the park landscape. The last two buildings have been preserved and allow a glimpse of the former splendor of the old pond landscape. The Würzbacher parks still invite you to search for traces today. Imagination is certainly welcome.

Wegbeschreibung
From the starting point at the Würzbacher Weiher, the path leads towards the Fischerhütte. On the first meters along the comfortable asphalted path, the hiker can let their gaze wander in all directions and thus discover some charming buildings around the pond, including the former station building, two of the Von-der-Leyen's splendid buildings (the Red Building to the left behind the Fischerhütte and the Annahof on the other side of the pond - today a hotel-restaurant) and the Villa Junkerswald, which is reached after one kilometer. The former economic building now houses a gastronomic establishment.
Here the path slowly ascends between old chestnut trees and meadow orchards and now reaches the parking lot of the Triebscheiderhof.
Between the paddocks of the stud farm, the Weiher Runde leads towards the farm. In summer, the beer garden there is open on Sundays and public holidays. After the first building, the path turns right and follows the farm track away from the farm. This path takes a bend and we have another view of the numerous horse paddocks of the farm.
The Weiher Runde turns relatively quickly right into the valley, where the hiker can already see the Sägeweiher. From there it goes through the Frohnsbachtal-Geissbachtal nature reserve, past the Annahof and the bathing area, over the pond dam back to the starting point.
