The Bliesmühle, a former "Wackenmühle", which was used to produce earthenware paste, now houses the themed museum for earthenware technology. Unique in Europe, it contains an important collection of machines and specialised hand tools from the ceramics industry, which have been used to reconstruct the old production facilities almost true to the original. The Bliesmühle offers an overview of the techniques and processing methods of ceramic art in the 19th and 20th centuries. From the clay to the final firing, the visitor discovers the different phases of earthenware production: from the processing of the clay and the raw mass to the moulding (first firing) and decoration (second firing). An interactive guided tour provides information with demonstrations of the interesting moulding process and the various amazing decoration methods used by the Sarreguemines ceramics factory at the time.
