Hiking trail marking Bliessteig
The second stage of the Bliessteig is characterized by several ascents and descents through the hilly landscape. Sections through the forest alternate with meadow paths through the southern Bliesgau. Mostly on natural paths, the approximately 13 km can be managed well.
The Bliessteig was awarded as Germany's most beautiful hiking trail in the category of multi-day tours in 2025 by the renowned hiking magazine.

The Kloster Gräfinthal near Bliesmengen-Bolchen in the Mandelbachtal is the starting point of the second stage. It was founded in 1243, destroyed and rebuilt several times. A regional pilgrimage site where Benedictine monks live today and in summer there is lively activity on the natural stage with theatre performances.

Fundamentally, entering the forest and walking on the hiking trails is at your own risk.
Due to seasonal or weather conditions, increased surefootedness is required on some sections of the trail.
Please wear clothing and hiking boots with appropriate soles adapted to the season and weather.

Careful use of the constructed stairs in the forest (they could be slippery due to fallen leaves).
