Many municipalities today boast modern administrative buildings. Kleinblittersdorf can claim to have a very old building as its administrative headquarters, one that looks back on a long history. The current historic town hall was built between 1760 and 1770 by Pierre de Hausen, a former French dragoon captain in the Austrian army, as a manor house. Due to his services, Pierre de Hausen was appointed mayor of Kleinblittersdorf in 1789. After his death in 1826, the estate passed to Johann Georg Mohr. He was a valet to Napoleon I and a son of the municipality of Kleinblittersdorf. As his marriage remained childless, he appointed the municipality of Kleinblittersdorf as his sole heir. Over the centuries, the building shared the borderland fate of the region. From 1802, it was the seat of the French Mairie and from 1816, it was once again the Prussian mayor's office. Since then, it has served continuously as an administrative building. Since 1993, art exhibitions have been held there on a rotating basis, providing an insight into the work of artists from the Saarland. Since 2012, the historic town hall has been one of the places of art and culture in the Saarbrücken regional association.
