The circular hiking trail "Der Rubenheimer" is a varied hiking trail around the Gersheim district of Rubenheim.
Over a length of 9.2 km, you can enjoy fantastic views of the Rohrentalweiher and the idyllic slopes of the southern Bliesgau. Delight in the ever-changing landscape of forests, hills, valleys, and meadows as you wander through. Listen to the quiet of nature in the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve.
At the beginning, there's a steeper ascent - the only one. Once at the top, splendid views reward the small effort.

In Rubenheim, directly below the church, there is the definitely worth visiting museum of rural everyday culture and Saarland superstition.
The museum building itself is already worth seeing. It is the former inn Hepp, a farmhouse from the first half of the 18th century, a very beautiful example of a southwest German Einhaus.
The museum was opened in 1988 by Gunter Altenkirch. Countless exhibits deal with everyday life, especially in the lower social classes, such as the small farming families of the 19th and 20th centuries, day laborers, craftsmen, and workers. The entire Saar area and adjacent regions are taken into account.

Wegbeschreibung
From the starting point at the Rohrentalweiher hiking car park, the hiking trail passes the idyllic Rohrentalweiher and goes uphill towards Hannock. From here, the path turns right through the Willbrunn forest past the Katharinenhof golf course. At kilometer 5, you have to cross the L231 (caution)! Then the route continues through the Schorn forest past the calcareous sandstone quarry into the center of Rubenheim and back to the starting point at the car park at Rohrentalweiher.

Caution:
Basically, entering the forest and walking on the hiking trails is at your own risk.
Due to seasons or weather conditions, increased surefootedness is required on some path sections.
Therefore, wear clothing appropriate to the season and weather and hiking shoes with suitable tread.
Please especially note:
Careful walking on the built stairs in the forest (they can be slippery due to falling leaves).
