The women's office of the Saarpfalz district - tasks and goals
Since 1988, the Women's Office has represented the interests of women from the entire Saarpfalz district and within the district administration and has a wide range of tasks.
For the entire Saarpfalz district
- Development and realisation of concepts and projects to improve the professional and social situation of women
- Public relations work, creating information material and organising events
- Networking women's organisations
- Advice for women and referral to specialised advice centres
- Counselling to improve the social and professional situation of women and girls
- General counselling on gender issues for citizens
- Promotion of women-relevant projects, institutions, organisations, associations and groups
- Committee work (counselling, statements on draft legislation, promotion of equal representation of women)
Within the district administration
- Enforcement of equal opportunities for female employees of the district administration. This means the involvement of the Women's Office in appointments and promotions, career re-entry, the realisation of part-time wishes, problems of reconciling family and career, the creation of assessment guidelines, assessment procedures, dismissals and much more.
- Helping to draw up the Saarpfalz district's plan for the advancement of women, which aims to counteract the various forms of discrimination against women in professional life
- Development and implementation of further training programmes
- Counselling and supporting employees and processing complaints
